PLC is a Part of DCS ,so DCS is a system which compose of PLC,Network,history archieve,main control computer , PLC is the main stay of any embedded control system

A controller controlling lot of PLC's is called DCS.DCS is mostly used for complex operations.Input and Output capacity of DCS is more compared with PLC.
