Why People Hate Their Jobs?

Acceptable Reasons For Why People Hate Their Jobs

An Overview:

The fact stands, not every job remains the same after a few years. In fact, there are many reasons that a particular individual takes up a job and then regrets. For example, a person may take up a job because there are no other jobs available, or a person may take up a job because they are between jobs and are waiting for the big break to happen. In some cases, a person may take up a particular job only as a means to get some experience in their field of profession.
A job that does not fit with the person’s competencies is a good recipe for dissatisfaction and a motivation to leave. However, other things can raise – There can be many negative factors that may lead someone to feel he hates his job, such as: bad company management, bad boss, dull assignments, routine job, workplace environment, relationship between  co-workers, low salary, no-feedback received, no career enhancement/development etc.
These and many other scenarios have the particular employee screaming out at the top of their lungs ‘I hate my job’.

Why Do You Hate Your Job & Why Do People Hate Their Jobs?

Here are some of the main reasons why you and many other people may hate their job:

No Feedback:

Many a times, people are employed in a place where they work from day-to-day, but there is nary a feedback about the work that they are doing, or how it went. This is another reason why people may hate the job.  Feedback is quite important for the employee as well as the employer and the product. If the employer does not provide or take feedback about their services and products from the general public, the employer will never be able to find out how they can enhance their products and services. In the same way, if the employer does not have the necessary feedback, they will never be able to inform the employee about how they can enhance their work profile.

Career Standstill:

In some cases, an employee is hired and paid a good salary promptly at the end of the month, but the job also brings their career to a standstill. The company will have no projects, and none of the assignments that the employee will work on will ever see the light of the day.  This culminates into a scenario where the person has been working in a company for the past two to five years but has nothing to show for it. This is another reason why you may hate your job.

Abysmally Low Pay:

There is a difference between not being paid one’s worth and being paid peanuts in the name of a salary. Some jobs in some companies have salaries so low that any lower and it would be monetary slavery.  A low pay is the universally top reason that a person may hate his job. In fact, being on a low paid job not only makes you hate your job, but it may have several other effects, right from becoming frustrated, to going into deep depression.

What To Do When You Hate Your Job?

The top scenarios beg the question, what does a person do when she or he does not like their job? One of the first things to keep in mind is that nobody can change anything in a company, unless and until they are in the management or are the CEO of the company.
If you do not like your job, the simplest way is to look for another job and quit. Of course, this time you have to be careful about your decision!
