Job Interview Feedbacks

Tips For Getting Feedback After A Job Interview

An Overview:

Whether it is your first interview or the tenth, you will feel nervous and be inquisitive about the results of the interview. Of course, if you did impress the interviewer, you will be called for the next round of interview and be employed, but the game-plan changes a bit if you do not impress the interviewer.
Actually, if you do not impress the interviewer, you might never know why you didn’t get through with the interview. Also, there are several aspects that play a major role in whether the interviewer would be impressed by you or not.
Basically, there is no way that an interviewee can get any kind of an interview feedback from the interviewer. Only in the rarest of rare cases will the interviewer actually agree to speak to the interviewee about the interview, and how it went along, and never in the official capacity or within the official premises.
However, getting the post interview feedback is quite important, because it not only gives you information about your positive traits as well as the negative ones, but it also allows you to be better prepared for the future interviews.

How To Get An Interview Feedback?

Since asking this feedback after an interview is almost impossible, you should look at some other ways of getting an overview/feedback of your job interview performance. You can rely on these two ways in order to get an idea on your performance:

Observe The Interviewer:

One of the best and only ways in which you can get a interviewing feedback is simply observing the interviewer.
You could even make a point of the body language and how the interviewer behaved during the interview, to find out whether the s/he has been satisfied with your interview or not. If the interviewer seems distracted, or is actually enabling and welcoming distractions, like allowing people to walk into the interview, or taking phone calls which could have been postponed, etc, you can be sure that you have a negative feedback on the Interview.
On the other hand, if the job interview took longer, and the interviewer went into atypical detail, you can be sure that you made a positive effect on the interviewer. Being observant during the Interview is one of the few sure-shot ways to getting the interview feedback.

Ask The Recruiter:

Asking feedback after an interview is a strict no-no situation, but you may get this information indirectly.
If you have applied for the job through a job consultant or a recruiter, you can have it easier – All you need to do is to contact the recruiter and ask him/her on how the interview went.
Job recruiters and job agency reps routinely ask employers for feedback on people that they send to the interviews.
However, some of them may keep this information confidential, and you would have to find out whether s/he considers it confidential information or not.
