Once you left the interview room, the process is not over yet. Within a day or two, write a short/business-like letter wherein you thank the interviewer for his/her time. A thank-you letter is the best way to reaffirm your interest in the job.
To make you stand out, mention a few points you covered in your conversation which demonstrate how you would be good in this position. The thank you letter is also an opportunity to provide information that may have been overlooked during the interview.

Specify one thing that will make you stand out in the employer’s mind.

Damage Control (optional):


You can give any relevant information that may have not been brought up in the interview. For example, if you made any mistake, giving a poor answer to a question, this may be your chance to correct and give a better response.

Reference/Documents (optional):


If the interviewer requested a specific documentation or reference’s contact details, this is the right place to deliver.

Finally:


Close with another statement of appreciation and relay a positive statement about your qualifications for the position.
