Profit maximisation & shareholders wealth maximisation is quite different although in both profit earning is the common factor but in shareholders wealth maximisation along with profit maximisation shareholders wealth is given more importantant firms main focus is on maximisation of owners fund profit maximisation is short term goal but firm can stand in the market long time with the objective of maximisation of shareholders fund/wealth.
