Difference between DCS and PLC including date processing and architecture.

If we have more I/o's in digital signals than analogue signals normally we choose DCS....and vice versa.

1.scan time of dcs will be in millisecs, where as dcs have in secs
2.dcs is used in industries for control purpose,where plc is used as ESD(emergency shutdown system)

PLC is a Part of DCS ,so DCS is a system which compose of PLC,Network,history archieve,main control computer , PLC is the main stay of any embedded control system

A controller controlling lot of PLC's is called DCS.DCS is mostly used for complex operations.Input and Output capacity of DCS is more compared with PLC.
