1. Explain me what is your opinion on driving safety?

You need to let the company know that you will not be a liability to them if they were to hire you to drive for them. Make sure it is clear to them that safety is important to you. Make sure they know how much you value wearing your seat belt and following all of the driving laws and rules you were taught during your CDL training.

2. Tell us how do you manage your time in the event of a late delivery?

The good thing is that there is always a lot to do even if you are not doing your primary work. If a delivery is late, I do not sit idle. I look for work in other areas, such as storage and inventory management to keep myself busy.

3. Explain me does traffic stress you out?

You already know that driving a commercial vehicle you will be stuck in traffic a lot. Make sure that the interviewer knows that you understand traffic is an inevitable part of the job and that it doesn't bother you.

4. Can you please tell us what was the work environment like?

Everybody was really nice. They have a team atmosphere there. That's the big thing. Everybody works as a team, so if there was something you couldn't do, you could always ask for help, and nobody would say anything or argue about it. It's a pretty cohesive environment.

5. Tell us how do you stay motivated?

You should have more than just monetary motivation. Describe how you an a motivated person that always strives to be efficient and reliable. Also, you are motivated by challenges and providing for your family.

6. Tell us what questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?

They wanted to know why I wanted to work at Lowe's, how long I was willing to work there, work ethic. Basically, what I was looking for in Lowe's. If I wanted a career, just a job, so they try to suit and tailor you to that.

7. What are your strengths as Loader or Unloader?

A good answer is that you are a quick learner and learn new technology quickly. The trucking industry is changing quickly and companies want to know if you are going to be able to adapt.

8. Can you please explain me your job title and primary duties?

I was a receiver and truck unloader at Lowe's. Trucks would come in, deliver the merchandise. Me and about three other guys would unload all the trucks, put them on pallets, and take all the merchandise out to the sales floor, and sit it at the end of a rack. And then a night team would come in.

9. Explain me how much experience do you have driving?

Your answer to this question has to be honest because the trucking company will find out where you have worked before. If you have never had a job driving you need to be honest and open about that. Not telling the truth to this question is the worse thing you could do.

10. Do you know what will our company gain by hiring you?

Talk about your dedication to the profession of truck driving, your clean driving record, and your attention to detail. They are looking for someone that is not going to be a liability.
