A Junior Executive has to keep track of all the flights which are arriving and departing at a particular time. In-case if there are two different flights arriving or departing at the same time then he needs to report

4. What is the duty of a Senior Assistant?

Senior Assistant is responsible for Instructing the pilots about their movements. A senior assistant takes reports from the Junior Executive and reports to the Manager for instructions at extreme cases.

5. Why an ATC?

Because I have a great potential to manage things, and my education also meets the required qualification skills where have complete the training for an ATC and I feel that I can use my knowledge and experience in a resourceful way for this job.

8. Who is a A&D Controller?

Arrival and Departure Controllers take care that an aeroplane lands or departs safely and also maintains a minimum space from the other vehicles for safety. They are also responsible for informing the pilots about the weather and forecast conditions.

9. Why are you leaving last job as Air Traffic Controller?

Although this would seem like a simple question, it can easily become tricky. You shouldn't mention salary being a factor at this point. If you're currently employed, your response can focus on developing and expanding your career and even yourself. If you're current employer is downsizing, remain positive and brief. If your employer fired you, prepare a solid reason. Under no circumstance should you discuss any drama or negativity, always remain positive.

En route controllers monitor aircraft once they leave an airport's airspace. They work at air route traffic control centers located throughout the country, which typically are not located at airports.

13. What do you like least about being an Air Traffic Controller?

I feel finding fault is a weakness.. And I avoid it. since this is my dream job, so I have not yet been able to finding anything of least interest.

14. What is the Job of a Manager?

A manager is responsible to instruct the Junior executives and the Senior Assistants and collect reports from them on weekly, monthly and annual basis.

15. What qualities do you have that would make you a good ATC?

I enjoy solving problem, I'm efficient and highly organized, I love to work in a team,I pay attention to all details and like to be sure that everything is just right.

16. Are you capable of leading a team?

Say yes only if you know all the functions of a leader and you are equally capable of handling them.

17. What is your greatest weakness share with me?

Although I don't think that this is my weakness but people say that it is. it is that I can not let things go unsolved until and unless I put my every possible effort to solve it.

18. Tell me about your ability to work under pressure as Air Traffic Controller?

You may say that you thrive under certain types of pressure. Give an example that relates to the type of position applied for.
Mention pressures you face on the daily, such as dealing with deadlines on a regular basis.
Try not to use an example where you created the pressure yourself, by waiting too long to start something, or by handling a task irresponsibly at the beginning. For example, working under pressure to meet a customer's deadline could be a good example, but not if you had waited too long to start the project.

Pressure is actually a catalyst to my work. When there is an imperative deadline, I refocus my energy into my work which in fact, has helped me to produce some of my best works. (Give examples) I guess you can say I thrive under pressure.

19. What do you see yourself doing in five years as Air Traffic Controller?

This is another question looking towards job commitment. Some people go through jobs like socks because they don't have a life plan, and your answer can show insight into this. It can also be used for finding out if you are the type that sets goals at all in life, because those that make long-term goals are usually more reliable. Also, your goals can provide insight on your personality too.

You should respond with an answer that shows progression in your career is on track with your route in the company. It's important to do your research on company prospects, this way you understand what to expect and if it's in your long-term goal. Interviewers don't want to set you on a path that won't provide the results you want, resulting in you resigning.

There are basically three roles and the employees assigned to each role are called as the controllers:

21. Did the salary we offer you attract you for this job?

Every employee wishes to have a better salary and jobs with higher salary do attract people, but besides that your company is well established and I will also get more opportunities over here. This was what attracted me more than the salary.

I have been working with computers since 2001. I also have a degree in network support/computer repair. I have built my last 3 computers, have work with Dell as an employee. So I have around 15 years experience working with computers.

24. Describe the abilities you have in order to work with us as air traffic controller?

I have the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences, communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand, tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem, identify or detect a known pattern (a figure, object, word, or sound) that is hidden in other distracting material, apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

25. What do you feel about the competition for job in the profession?

The competition level is bit too high and it has to be as this job requires a lot responsibilities to be handled. But then too I feel that there is always a space for highly qualified and disciplined ATCs.

26. What challenges are you looking for in this air traffic controller position?

There can be various challenges for me in this job and sometimes a few challenges can also risk someone's life and my duty will be find the best possible solutions so that there is no damage caused to anyone.

27. Why do you believe we should hire you as Air Traffic Controller?

This question needs to be carefully answered as it is your opportunity to stick out from the rest of the applicants. You should focus on skills that you have, including those not yet mentioned. Simply responding "because I'm really good" or "I really need a job" isn't going to work. You shouldn't assume the skills of other applicants or their strengths, focus on yourself. 28. Have you had to deal with an emergency situation in the tower before? How did you handle the situation?

Have not found. But if in case it comes I believe that with patience, calmness and right decision can pacify the situation.

29. Suppose some flight wants to take some emergency landing at your airport, can you handle it?

Say yes only if you can, else don't worry, simply say no. They will appreciate your honesty and train you for it if you are selected.

30. What have you done to improve your knowledge for air traffic controller position in the last year?

Try to include improvement activities that relate to the job. A wide variety of activities can be mentioned as positive self-improvement. Have some good ones handy to mention.

Employers look for applicants who are goal-oriented. Show a desire for continuous learning by listing hobbies non-work related. Regardless of what hobbies you choose to showcase, remember that the goal is to prove self-sufficiency, time management, and motivation.

Everyone should learn from his mistake. I always try to consult my mistakes with my kith and kin especially with elderly and experienced person.

I enrolled myself into a course useful for the next version of our current project. I attended seminars on personal development and managerial skills improvement.

31. What are the skills required for air traffic controller employee in order to success in his work?

Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times, Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one, Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions, Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action, Talking to others to convey information effectively.

32. Tell me about a time when you were personally involved in a stressful situation and how you handled it?

The most stressful situation was :-
I was instd 12th and had my 12th board exam on that day but when I was ready to go to take my exams, we had a quarrel with my neighbor and it was so violent that my papa was hospitalized and I was about to leave my board exams but then a police officer took me to my center there some how I appeared for the exam (although exam was good) and I returned home and found that the quarrel was still going on by fits and start. this situation was like a challenge to me as to how I handle my stress.

33. Suppose it is raining heavily in your city but if it is all clear at the place where the flight has to reach. Would you allow the flight to take off?

No, because there are chances of accidents while taking off from the ground. And if the signals mess up, the flight can also result in getting directed to some other direction.

34. What was the most challenging problem you have faced in your career and how did you overcome it?

While training for an instructor position I encountered a physical problem that hampered my ability to study and focus. I was however determined to succeed and that I did. It was extremely difficult but I learnt an invaluable lesson. Let others underestimate you but do not underestimate yourself. Never quit you do not know how you will do if you do not follow through something to the end.

35. Suppose there is a delay in flights and a few flights are already on a runway and two more are about to come. What would you do in that situation?

I will instruct incoming flights to hold in the air for a while and reduce its travelling speed so that in that time I can instruct the pilots of the other flights who are standing on the runway to move to some other place.
