What is a Cataract?
Submitted by: AdministratorA Cataract is a clouding of the Crystalline Lens inside the eye. It is not a film over the eye. The Crystalline Lens is made of soft flexible protein that is surrounded by an elastic membrane called a Capsule. When the soft, normally transparent protein becomes cloudy, yellow or opaque it is called a Cataract. A Cataract is not a growth over the eye and it is not contagious.
